How do I know which psychologist is right for me?

Our friendly team will ask you to share the reason for your attendance, you only need to share as much as you feel comfortable. This helps us match you with a psychologist who best suits your needs.

In some cases, our team may also speak with a psychologist to confirm they are the right fit. If it turns out that the psychologist isn’t the best match, you are always welcome to be referred to another available clinician.

What information is required before my first appointment?

When you make an appointment, our friendly receptionist will send a welcome email to the address you provide. This email includes all the information you’ll need before your first session, along with a link to complete online consent forms.

What you’ll need to bring/send depends on how you’re being referred:

  • Private sessions: Complete the consent forms (no other documents needed)

  • Workcover or CTP: Your referral and approval documents

  • Medicare (MHCP): Your referral and Mental Health Care Plan

  • NDIS (Plan Managed): Your NDIS plan and managers details

To make things easier, it’s best to email a copy of your documents to info@safehousepsychology.com as soon as you can. This allows our team to double-check everything before your appointment, helping your session run smoothly.

What ages do you see?

We provide individual therapy for children aged 5 and up, teens, and adults.

Is parking available at your clinic?

Yes! The Ed.Square Town Centre has two underground parking levels with 3 hours free parking, making it the easiest option for most visitors. There is also parking available around the outside of the building, though spaces can be harder to find.

Both car park levels have elevators for easy access. The simplest way to reach us is to find the Service NSW elevator, you can take it straight up to Level 1, where Safe House Psychology is located opposite Service NSW.

Do you offer telehealth sessions?

Yes, we do offer telehealth sessions via video or phone for added convenience. However, in some cases, telehealth may not be the most beneficial option. Your psychologist will discuss what’s best for you and may recommend face-to-face sessions when appropriate.

Where are you located in Edmondson Park?

Safe House Psychology is located in the Ed.Square Town Centre at Edmondson Park. The easiest way to find us is to follow the signs toward Service NSW, we’re located opposite their office.

To make it even easier, we’ve included a map below showing the path between Coles and Safe House Psychology.

You can also use the Ed.Square Town Centre Map https://www.edsquare.shopping/centre-map to help guide you straight to us.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

No, you don’t need a referral to see a psychologist at Safe House Psychology, you’re always welcome to attend sessions privately.

A referral is only required if you wish to claim a rebate through Medicare. To do this, your GP, paediatrician, or psychiatrist can provide you with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). This referral allows you to access an initial 6 rebated sessions.

After these first 6 sessions, your psychologist will send a review letter back to your GP, who can then provide another referral for up to 4 additional sessions, bringing the total to 10 rebated sessions per calendar year.
